Definition of Plagiarism in Education Institution

In education institution, plagiarism is a real enemy for student and academic institution. Actually, plagiarism is a Latin language as plagiaries which means rob or pirating. According to Webster’s New Collegiate Dictionary 9th, Plagiarize can define as steal and pass off (the ideas or words of another) as one's own, use (a created production) without crediting the source, to commit literary theft, present as new and original an idea or product derived from an existing source. In other definition, plagiarism is to take and use as one’s own the thoughts, writings, or inventions of another (The Oxford English Dictionary, 1987).

According to dictionaries, Plagiarism can defined as the wrongful appropriation,close imitation, or purloining and publication of another author language, thoughts, ideas, or expressions, and the representation of them as one's own original work, but the notion remains problematic with nebulous boundaries.

In the modern era, students can to do plagiarism easily, because student can imitate some information or other sources form internet. Plagiarism occurs when some people take information from sources without present identity’s author. They can also copy and use creation (writing, thought) and made it become one creation.

According to dictionaries, plagiarism can definite as a wrong appropriation, close imitation, or purloining and publication of another author language, thoughts, ideas, or expression, and the representation of them as one’s own.
