Plagiarism, The Biggest Crimes in Education Institution

Writing skill is an aspect to measure of progress a student in education institution, even to measure of progress in a country. In develoved country such as in Indonesia, writing skill is the most important aspect a student should complete to graduate from a university. For example to pass from university, a student should make a paper or course work.

Universities in the world have some problems in writing, such as about plagiarism. Plagiarism occurs not only in Indonesia, but also in other country in the world. Besides plagiarism is prohibited in the Higher Education Institution, but also plagiarism is prohibited in other institutions, such as in journalism, art, etc.

Universities in Indonesia even in the world have the same opinion about plagiarism. Universities prohibited their student do plagiarism in any piece of works. In Indonesia, one of universities which applying some prohibited about plagiarism for their students is Muhammadiyah University of Yogyakarta. In Muhammadiyah Universities of Yogyakarta, especially to English Education Department is prohibited their student do plagiarism in writing. Writing is the most important feature in measure understanding a student in study. Lecturer in English Education Department UMY at the moment are made some writing class to improve their students ability in writing, such as Academia Reading and Writing lesson, Interpretive Reading and Argumentative Writing, and etc.

Student in universities in Indonesia, especially for English Education Department students UMY must be careful in writing, because one of the biggest crimes in writing is plagiarism. Student must be ignore and avoid plagiarism in their piece of work.
